Challenge: Try Something New

Review:  Indique
My Rating: 4/5

This weekend, I tried Indian food at Indique. In the past, I had gone to one Indian restaurant and really did not like the food.  I'm happy to say after trying Indique, I'm more willing to try other dishes in the future. Normally, I'm not a fan of spicy food. In fact mild can be too spicy for me. However Indian food was suggested as the restaurant to try this weekend and although it is still is not my favorite I am very glad I went.

When I went to Indique in Cleveland Park in DC, it was right next to the metro and an easy location to find.  I was impressed by the design of the restaurant and was seated right away.  The location had just opened for the day and not that many customers had arrived yet.  I ordered 2 appetizers: Achari Chicken 'Taco' which is "Hot & spicy pickled chicken with fenugreek, mustard, red chili, vinegar in between ‘makki ki roti (corn tortillas) "  and Calamari Ullarthiyathe, "Tossed with shallots, ginger, hot pepper, mustard seeds & tomato".   Both were flavorful and worth the trip into DC. Overall I was impressed and would make a repeat trip.
