Clutter: It's an Everyday Decision

I went to Goodwill, again. I donated another two things. Most people think me dropping off one or two items is a little strange, but I don't care. I believe getting rid of things is hard but worth it. I get anxious getting rid of things so I donate just a few or even just one at a time.  It keep the what if's at bay when I can look at each item before parting with it.

The process takes much longer than I would like but in the end it's the same. I will fill a small bag with stuff that I believe should be donated and then put it in the car. I know I should let things go as soon as they are in the car but I need one last look. Sometimes I donate it all, sometimes I take stuff out of the bag and don't donate it. I'm ok with this, I'll try again next time.  If it gets me to donate anything it was a success. The process is what maters not how much I donate at any one time. I know it's not efficient. If I was doing everything the most efficient way I would have just thrown it in the trash or not have purchased the item at all.

Also, when decluttering move everything around the house.  Go through an entire room at least once a quarter. I mean every cabinet, every storage device. Last night I found a blanket in an ottoman that I didn't even remember having. I live in 1 room apartment. How do you forgot about a blanket in that small of space? Every time I go through my apartment I find more things to donate. Last time I went through my closet I realized I still had my graduation robes. I will never use those again so out they should go.

If you think you have completely decluttered, look again. I bet you will find something.
