My fiance and I went to Sandals Montego Bay and are loving the vacation spot.
Today we went snorkeling and I was confused when they had us
take a 20-minute class on intro to snorkeling. We went into a pool and we were
taught how to put on a snorkel mask and how to use the snorkel. To me it wasn't worth the introduction, but
since it's included in the hotel I went with it. Joe said it made snorkeling more enjoyable
for him.
Soon we were off to the ocean to actually explore. YAY! It was a
very fun time. After a quick boat ride (you could still see the resort from the
boat) and they said go explore. I'm terrified of sharks, which we didn't
see, but I got in the ocean for about 10 minutes before I decided to get back on the boat.
Eco- rant: I was very happy to see the coral alive and fish
underneath my viewing point. I wish the resort recycled better though. Most of
the drinks are in reusable glasses, but water bottles and beer cans should still
have a recycling point. In the rooms recycling is not option. I have a reusable water bottle with me.
The food here has been mostly good, nothing bad. Last night we
ate at a Japanese restaurant and it was very good. The food was made in front of
you and was a great stir-fry.
The breakfast was a normal buffet, something ok for
everyone. I recommend the fruit.
Tonight we are eating at the Oleander Room which serves caribbean cuisine.
Also, there has been a lot of rain. The mornings are amazing
- lots of sun and then around noon summer showers come and go. As much as
it makes me sad that the sun goes away, the Wi-Fi is good, so I can do some
work.
My favorite restaurant so far is the cafe which has a good
cappuccino. Also, I love how warm it is but not crazy humid. I wish it rained less but I'm happy typing away on my balcony watching it rain on the ocean.
