Adventures in VA: Wineries in Northern VA

This weekend I drove down to UVA and passed a lot of good wineries. I didn't have any time to go, but I wanted to write about some wineries in Virginia that I have tried and highly recommend.


My favorite wineries in VA are:

1) Barrel Oak winery

My favorite by far. It has so much space to sit and enjoy the views.  My top choice wine is the Chardonnay.


2) Pearmund Cellars

This winery has great whites. It's my boyfriend favorite winey in the northern Va area.


3) Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn

I enjoyed the full bodied reds and the people that work there are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable .

4) Narmada Winery

This winery had very sweet whites and I recommend their desert wines. 

 

5) Paradise Springs Winery

This winery has a great location and I recommend the red wines. However,  it's also been a few years so I'll have to go back and see what they have for this year. 

What's your favorite winery or type of wine? 

Mine is buttery Chardonnay or oak-y Merlot.
