I tried to pack extremely light but still packed a little too much.
I brought:
1 carry on suitcase
I medium backpack
1 tote purse
Here are my top five recommendations for packing well:
1) Always bring snacks (Tourist spots always charge a lot)
I like Quaker Chewy Granola Bar, S'mores.
2) Have a great carry on luggage and compression cubes.
My suitcase is a Samsonite Freeform Hardside Spinner 21 I love it and it rolled very well.
I HIGHLY recommend Eagle Creek packing cubes . Also, I would recommend labeling the cubes so you know what's in them.
They also make great laundry bags.
3) Bring a laptop OR!!!! an iPad - you will not need both. I did this and regretted the weight. I only used the laptop. This changes if you read a lot with the kindle app. I use audiobooks on my iPhone.
4) Have one external battery for 2 people. Share and keep the weight down. I had an external battery but I kept using my boyfriends Anker 20000mAh Portable Charger PowerCore because there was 2 ports on his and we keep mine in my suitcase most of the trip.
5) Don't be afraid to throw items away. I threw away a pair of leggings after wearing them because I realized that the elastic was at the end of it's life and better not to carry if I didn't have to. Also I brought a lot of make up samples to try and gain some space along the way because I could toss them easily.
Things I will pick up for my next trip:
- A smaller laptop bag with good shoulder straps.
- New camera (I'm still deciding on which one)
Items I was thankful to bring:
- Hydro Flask Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Leak Proof Sports Water Bottle, Standard Mouth with BPA Free Flex Cap (blue)
- Tide Travel Sink Packets, 3-Count
- Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes & Wipes Travel Size
- Flip Flops (Old Navy)
