1. Write goals down in small steps. If you don't write it down, it won't happen. Write down a due date or a time that you have to complete the task. Write down each part of each step.
For my running goal, I put on my calendar how many miles or minutes I need to run at what time. For example, 7 pm 4 miles. I don't hit every number, but I know what I need to do.
If you need more motivation, sign up for something hard to accomplish in the future. It must have a end date. For example, I have a half marathon in March.
2. Tell your friends.
By admitting what you want, that's a start.
3. Tell your friends, when you achieve any small accomplishment or you complete a step.
My goal is to lose 10 pounds. I haven't lost any weight sadly :( but I told my friends that I went to spin class on Monday and it encouraged me to keep going.
4. Hire or ask for help. It doesn't need to be expensive. Goals are hard; getting counsel is not admitting defeat.
I hired a personal trainer and I'm focusing on strength training. It's one of my weaknesses and I have a hard time making myself work with weights. I run multiple times a week but a trainer helps me with areas that I lack the motivation and knowledge.
Asking for help is a cheeper option. For example, if you have a friend that loves to organize ask them to help you organize your closet. I love closet decluttering and makeovers. If one of my friends asked me for my help I would do it in a second.
5. Do not give up - most people do. I'm cheering for you!
