I'm going back to the store with my mom to show her. I went with my friends/ bridal party yesterday and I'm excited and nervous.
So many thoughts are going through my head:
- Is it too early to pick a dress? My date in in spring 2019 but it takes 8-9 months for the dress to be ordered and fitted.
- Is it too much money? It's in the budget that my fiance and I agreed too, but when faced with that price tag I still can't think that's a lot of money (over 1k) for 1 day and 1 dress. I will resell or donate after the big day but I still pause.
I love it and couldn't take the dress off for some time. I tried on the veil, the necklace and wanted to say yes right there, but I also wanted everything to be right.
Here are my rules when it comes to shopping for the dress (or any other big purchase)
1. Wait 24 hours if you are at all concerned with the price (dopamine surges before you buy anything so when there is so much emotion you can't help but be emotional)
-If you can't wait 24 hours (sample sale) take 4 long breaths to calm your heart rate.
2. Bring someone you trust! - Not the person that says you look great because that's what they think you want to hear.
3. Always try lots of options - this is my 3rd store
4. Give yourself lots of time. I don't want to be rushed. If I go to the store today and it's not what I had in my head I can come back after going to another store.
5. Always give your fiance a heads up before you buy the dress what it cost and the shape. you are a team and even though he can't see it before you purchase he should be given a heads up.
