Try Something New: 2018

Over the weekend, I went to Cyclebar and loved it.  It's too expensive for me to go to the class often but I'll probably buy a class ($20) every so often.  It burns a lot of calories (250 today) and reminds me to value my time. Its very motivating; working hard with a room full of people that want to improve.  For 45 minutes,  I was just working on myself. This year my goals will be: growth in my fitness and in my professional life.

However, I need to set clear goals in 2018 in order to achieve them

Goal 1: get to work early and stay late.
Goal 2: hit financial goals and keep track of those goals
Goal 3: finish that half marathon!!!  Its in march.  My time hopefully will be 3 hours and 20 min. (my 10k time is 1:20)
Goal 4: lose 10 lb (I saw pictures of myself during the holiday - those are very motivating) I know how good I can look. I need to just keep focus.

I like the pep talk the instructor gave about setting an intention at the beginning of the class  and working to be all you can be. I have already signed up for personal training and my fiance and I have a goal for our down payment, our budget is done for the month. We will have meetings once a week to keep us on track because it's a double edge sword as there are two of us. The good: there are two people encouraging each other to a common goal. The bad: If I mess up, I in a way go back on my word.

Goals need to be written down and discussed. You can hit pause but don't stop completely. Just tread water and get your breath. AND THEN start again. Do not think that you failed; because you are not failing. You are trying something new. There is always a person in last place, but they are truly not last because all the people that aren't trying at all aren't on the board.
