I'm Engaged!!!
I'm engaged and can't wait for the wedding. I'll have ton of fun stories to tell and photos to post. My fiance' included my best friends and my family at a nearby winery in his plan. He completely surprised me at what I believed was a girls wine day. I will never be able to thank them for tricking me into getting my hair and nails done without revealing what Mr. Fiance' had planned.
Here's what happened:
He showed up at the winery and I was about to get angry at him for crashing girls day because he led me to believe he felt left out. He walked outside and I followed him and he starts walking to the lake/ pond that is in front of the winery. At this point, I know what's happening and pause. Not that I'm not going to say yes because I'm been pestering him for a couple of months on when we are going to get engaged since we have been talking about it for about a year. We already live together and I'm ready to marry him . Everyone knew that I'm stubborn and impatient. So I pause and get myself together. He asks if I'm coming and I start walking again to meet him at the pond. He tells me how much he loves me and that we are a great team. Then he gets on one knee and ask me to marry him.
I said yes and kiss him.
To cheers and applause from the winery balcony and from my friends behind us, we kiss again then turn around. My friends who were waiting to hug me and see the ring come running over. ( I could not be happier with the ring. It's 3 stones and they are all from my family. The middle one is my great grandmother's and the two side rings are my sweet 16 earrings.
I'm not 100% on the details after this, because I had just said yes and super excited, but we went back to the tasting room. The winery owner asked to take our picture and after a few tries I gave the ok to post online a photo that I liked. We then waited for my family to arrive and a few more family and friends. It was perfect.
Shortly afterwards celebrating with a larger group of friends and family, we went to dinner with a smaller group close friends at a steakhouse and some people that couldn't make the proposal. I loved celebrating with my friends, but I wanted to get home and relax with my new hubby-to-be.
Over the next couple of days I'll be showing the ring off and starting the long wedding process - but all should be fun. If it's too stressful, you're rushing the process. Slow down and pick a date farther out.
I can't wait to marry my amazing teammate. He's my best friend.
Thanks for listening to my account and I loved putting it down on "paper." Stay tuned for wedding details.
