Wedding Planning: Looking for the Right Venue

So I've been looking for our wedding venue and my biggest advice to know an estimate of guest list before looking for a venue  The venue possibilities will be greatly impacted by what size of room you need.  Also look at many different types of venues.

I've been looking for about a month and it is hard. Some places are too big, some are too vintage, some are too pricey.  One place quoted me a minimum (before fees) of $50,000.  Sometimes they will change their policies for off season and not-Saturdays, but if depends on the venue.  Venue hunting can be a great date though.  Many of these places you would never even thought of visiting - like great restaurants at hotels, wineries or test out a B&B that do small weddings can be sites that host weddings and could be a great venue.

My biggest challenge has been the lack of pricing information.  I know why places do this, to get people to call, but I absolutely hate it for planning such a big event.  I want to understand before I call if what I want is within (or even near my budget before waste someones and my own time.  Also anyone would understand if there was a disclaimer saying this is the basic price, not a quote. Thankfully, there are some lists online which have a general idea of the venue price, from affordable to expensive.  One I have been using is https://www.theknot.com.

However, because I plan events and marketing for my job, planning the event itself wont be that hard ( I say this now lol) . It should be a lot of Internet searches, phone calls and talks with hubby-to-be on what we want. Making the choices will be the difficult part. Please don't worry or stress too much though. Make it a date night once a week and discuss the plans. If you talk about it too much it gets stressful. (Sorry, I know I've done this) Really understand what your partner envisioned for the day. Remember it's just one (Great!!!!) day.
